DUNCAN ARMSTRONG OAM
Duncan burst into Australian households when he became one of only three Australian Olympic Champions at the Seoul Games in 1988, alongside hurdler Debbie Flintoff-King and the Hockeyroos.
Doing it in style, Duncan broke the 200 freestyle World Record winning Australia's 100th medal in Olympic competition. Teaming up early with the charismatic and incomparable coach of champions, Laurie Lawrence, Duncan enjoyed 10 years in the famous green and gold tracksuit for Australia.
Nowadays Duncan divides his time between raising his five children with his wife Rebecca, media work, corporate coaching, charitable partnerships, and his services to the community as a committed Christian.
A true “everyman” Duncan embodies our best Australian traditions of fairness and hard work…it is a truly inspirational story. With laconic wit, Duncan serves up the ‘inside lane’ with some of his funniest and most memorable Olympic moments, and the lessons life has presented to him.
